Just Thinking

I haven't blogged for so long.  I have so many ideas going on in my life right now.  I am having hard time keeping on track of any one thing.  Overwhelmed has always been a problem for me.

How hard it's been for me to realize that any artsy potential I've ever thought I had is either non existent or never was.  That's a hard one to swallow!!!

Lately I've also been realizing how "old" i've become.  I hate to be so morbid, but there isn't enough "time" left for everything I thought I'd like to do, learn, etc.

Even with computerization-  you aren't given more time!!!

List of things I'm into right now:

1. blogging for $$$
2. genealogy and writing my family history
3. art journaling
4. doing something with the "jewels"
5. using Evernote to get rid of all my paper!!
6. reading Bible chronologically
7. getting all contacts completed
8. cleaning/organizing my junk room

List is a bit difficult to get through for me.  I tend to jump around and never complete tasks!!

Well,  I am proud that I've posted-  at least!!!

CONFUSION !!!!

I went out and purchased this new laptop- Viao by Sony.  I did much research, looking for the fastest, most updated for the lowest price.  Well I'm using Windows 8 and wow am I confused.  I just can't navigate like I used to.  I can't find all my usual stuff, without wasting lots of valuable time.  That's not to mention that I'm usually trying to do impossible tasks, or am I?  Who knows?  There is plenty of  "help" spots.  They don't seem to truly help!!!

Well, just thought I'd blog since I finally found my blog!!

Baby Lilly's Curtain/Shade

This is my first attempt at adding instruction to my blog! In my daughter Tammy's second trimester (when I knew the gender of my third grandchild to be) I began to dream up some things for the coming infant's nursery. One item was to be the window treatment. I will speak of other items I created in a later post.

The funny thing is, my other daughter, Jolene (a graduate of Phila Univ fashion design program) was also going to design and create the actual bedding items. We both knew the main fabric- the green based botanical print. But we had different style ideas. I was planning to add pink accent (with ribbon, lace, etc.) Jolene was planning what she and Tammy had discussed- a more "Victorian" style!! And so her accents turned out to be the gold-y beige in trim, accents, ribbons, etc. In the middle of my dream, I had to change gears!! Only more conformation of my reason for procrastination! After all; Lilly and Mom are coming home today and I am just finishing the window shade!! I am waiting for glue to dry ha ha ha- I am serious!!!

First of all Tammy measured the window. Of course, I lost that measurement by this time and have been using a second varience on measurement- Two lengths of paper ribbon, one with a knot (which by the way she did accidentally- but then again- nothing is by accident- is it?)one without- the knot one being the width of window.

With knotted and unknotted in hand- I began:

All done without use of sewing machine. Hand sewing only for gathering of top valence.
