Our maiden voyage was to find "Korman's Cove" (not sure of the name) which was across to the north and east side of the Indian Lake. The suggestion was given by another "camper" Mark, who left the following day. He mentioned that he usually 'camps' on the other side where it is "state" grounds and no one inhabits except for camping.
We fished the whole cove- don't think we caught anything, then decided to take the "trail" up to Baldface Mountain. I didn't make it all the way with John, but he did and took photos. That is enough for me. I realize I get out of breath more quickly than John. Down hill sure is a lot easier!
Did I mention what I thought of the Hornbeck canoe? Meh. I think it will take getting used to sitting somewhat "inside" the canoe rather than "on" the canoe. But, the "light-ness" is the best feature and why hubby chose it. For that reason- it's great.
The following day Tuesday- was drippy rain most of the day. We explored Sprague Pond and decided to take canoe on Thursday sunrise for a morning on Sprague Pond. (Wednesday was already projected to be a rain-out.) It was a 3/10 mile hike from road to pond. Hubby thought it was do-able and so we did!
Might I add at this point: Sprague Pond is now Skunked Pond.
